Old windows (and doors) hold a fascinating attraction for me. I love the eclectic architectural elements of windows from around the world. I also think of them as "living art," in that they're a small window into the personalities of the people who live there - or lived there, in the case of a historical home. Which of the above windows appeals most to you? The windows in the little cottage in Hampshire, England is my favorite! This small sampling of windows was found on Google Images. I hope you enjoyed looking at them as much as I did!
Until next time,
Cindy
My favorite is the Scotland window with the window boxes full of flowers! I love this quote, too. Have a restful evening.
ReplyDeleteCindy I love your windows. I love windows and doors too and take pictures of them when I see unique ones. Only thing is there aren't any around here like in Europe. My favorite is the cottage in Hampshire, England too.
ReplyDeleteThere were such lovely views from each window that it is very hard for me to pick a favorite. I think they all contain their own unique beauty and charm.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the Tuscan one with the fancy pigeons; I think they are mates or rather, love birds.
ReplyDeleteOh they are all lovely, but I love the Hampshire one too. I so can't help myself when I have a camera in hand to take photo's of doors and windows. I especially like the old (Dunny)outside toilet doors in Australia, all shabby and chippy.

ReplyDeleteThey're all wonderful, but that cottage in Hampshire is my favourite too. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteI love the first photo with the pink flowers. So spring like and I'm hankering for spring!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day!

My understanding is that Ella Wheeler Wilcox was married to a relative of mine (Wilcox). I love her prose and poetry. I also love old doors and windows. They have always fascinated me. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteOh so beautiful! Love all of these but the last in particular.

Oh Linda, these are all so pretty. They remind me of Spring...ahhhhhh! I love the last photo of an old French cottage, which is my dream.

Thanks Cindy Adkins for sharing this on facebook. I love pictures of windows and doors too. These pictures are fantastic.

Some of those windows were so small, we doubt there are any sunpuddles inside for the kitties. That window in Tuscany especially looked like something out of a shelter (or prison)
ReplyDeleteThe ones with flowers would be great places, though. Lots of sun, and bugs and fevvers flitting around.
My choice would be Paris, France. Very nice post. Pat
ReplyDeleteI love all these images! I love old windows and doors too! My favorite? That's hard to ask! I keep looking at them and they are all different in their own way. I like them all! ReplyDeleteHi Cindy, Great windows, I like the Hampshire, England windows best, next would be the French balcony and next the arched windows. Have a wonderful day! Hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteI like the first two because of the flowers. It was fascinating to see all the different styles. :)
ReplyDeleteI love beautiful windows and doors too. These are gorgeous ones!
ReplyDeleteI don't think i ever really noticed windows before...thanks!! i learn something new everyday.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I always take pictures of windows and doors when I travel. The are fascinating. Thank you for sharing at Potpourri Friday!
ReplyDeleteThe one from Scotland is my favorite, but I love the ones from England and the one from France.
