Vintage Glass Lawn Ornaments

Hello everyone,
Our weather this weekend has been absolutely gorgeous! Yesterday was 72 degrees, sunny, with a slight breeze - couldn't be better for a late summer day. Unfortunately, I've come down with a virus of some sort with a sore throat and alternating between chills and burning up! So, I'll be enjoying all that sunshine from indoors today. I want to share some photos I took last weekend at our local flea market, though. One person was selling these vintage glass lawn/garden ornaments and bottle trees. I can't decide if I like them or not? They're different...and very pretty, but that's a LOT of beautiful, vintage glassware that would look good on a dining room table! Still though, not everyone likes to use vintage table settings, so I suppose it's another good way to recyle glass. What do you think?

...and, the pumpkins are out, so we know autumn is around the corner!

Enjoy the week ahead. I'm excited about the arrival of fall - looking forward to the change and also seeing all the beautiful autumn decorations, tablescapes, artwork, etc. on other blogs.

Until next time,
Cindy

9-11 Memorial

These are photos I took today at the new 9-11 memorial that was recently constructed in our town. It features a steel beam from the World Trade Center that is 17 feet long and weighs 6,268 pounds. The beam sits on the granite wall at a 9.11-degree angle. A mound of dirt representing Flight 93 that crashed in Pennsylvania is also a part of the site. Three flag poles include the American Flag, the National Fallen Firefighters flag and the National Fallen Police Officers flag. One of the most touching aspects to me is that a flag pole is arranged at the site in such a way that at 8:46 a.m., the time at which the first plane struck the first tower, the American flag casts a shadow on one end of the beam. The steel beam is one of 1,200 pieces that were presented to towns and fire departments across the country after going through an application process.

Shabby Chic Tea Party~

Hello everyone,
It's been a while since we've had a "virtual" tea party. This one has a shabby chic/pink theme, and you're all invited - so, let's go!

We'll start by decorating with antique roses, candles and pearls.

...and maybe a pretty white bird cage filled with flowers or cupcakes.

I love this idea - take "shabby chic" paper and roll into cones. Fill with tiny sweets for party favors.

Tea in lovely vintage tea cups, of course!

Finger sandwiches, fruit and cookies

Another great idea - an ice bowl filled with sherbet.

...and a special cupcake for everyone to end the day!

Thank you for stopping by...I hope you enjoyed the party!
Until next time,
Cindy

Cats on Tuesday - Rudy's Update

Hello Friends,
Rudy here. How is everybody? Guess what? I'm playing trick on Mom! I steal her glasses she left laying on sofa. MOL!  I hide them and she will look for them all over house.

This is something I like to do sometimes. Is funny to watch Mom look for them. Then she say, "did one of you take my glasses?" When she look at me, here is what I will be doing - all innocent like.

Friends, please don't tell Mom what I do. Now, I will tell you what we been doing since last time, which is not much, but we are all good. Buster still doing he daily meditations every morning after he eat.

Om...ommm

Ahhh...I feel so relaxed and centered. Now is time for nap!

I ask Buster to teach me meditations, but he say "I'm not a guru." I don't know what that means, but I think it means "no."

Sam has been eating and sleeping because....well, because that is what Sammy always do!

Sam sleeping

More of Sam sleeping

That is update from  me, friends.  Now, I'm going to go see if Mom find her glasses yet. MOL! Do you ever play tricks on your pawrents?

Until next time,
Rudy
