These photos were taken yesterday at the Collier-Howard State Nature Preserve in Northwest Ohio. One of my favorite things in the world to do is hike in the woods. It was so peaceful and quiet - when I stood still, I could actually hear the leaves falling from the trees. Magical!
This preserve contains beech trees, oaks, sycamore, ash, tulip and cottonwoods. As you can see, there is still quite a lot of green on the trees. They're changing rapidly, day by day, however.
Mushrooms and moss on a log.
Stairs are built into some of the hillsides. I think they've done a very good job of doing it in a way as to not distract from the natural beauty of the area.
Until next time, wishing everyone a wonderful week!

Taking nature walks are one of my absolute favorite activities! Your photos are gorgeous! Oh, I think I would love to visit a place like this!
ReplyDeleteBTW, your cats are very talented animals to be part of your writing staff. How did you train them to do such wonderful tasks? I must confess that my felines are not as talented. :)

ReplyDeleteOooo! My second virtual fall walk in the beauty of God's handiwork today! We've a rainy fall day here so I'm staying inside - perhaps baking this afternoon and catching up on home life before back to work tomorrow. Thanks for the lovely photos!
