Spring in Ohio

Spring has finally arrived! Yes, I think we've turned the corner. I feel bad for those living out west (6 inches of snow in Denver...with more to come??!) Yikes...and I thought spring was late arriving in Ohio. Here's a photo of my crocus in full bloom:

...and another sure sign of spring - Rudy sitting in the open window!

I also want to share some photos of a little log cabin I found on one of my recent country drives. When I need to clear my head...or if I'm bored...or sometimes for no reason at all, except I'm in the mood to get out and explore, I take drives in the country. I remember, as a child, the whole family would pile in the car for a Sunday drive. Back then, it was a form of entertainment. How many of you did that as children, as well?

You'll never know what you might find. I have no information about this cabin. It sits right beside the highway, just outside the tiny town of Melmore. Little house on the prairie? I'd love to know who lived there. Both of my parents lived in log houses for a short time when they were children...but that's a story for another day.

I hope you're all having a good week!
Until next time,
Cindy

I love the log cabin! Beautiful! Your parents lived in log houses? Wow! That has always been my mom's dream, to own one and of course live in one ;o) I loved driving on Sundays! And, it seemed no one was on the road! Such a great time to explore! There is too many people now on the roads, all the time! Hi Rudy ;o) You know how much I love your cats Cindy ;o) We are suppose to get a snow storm friday morning! Ugggg! Hugs ;o)

Your crocuses are gorgeous! I like that log cabin too. It amazes me how well they were made, and how well they have held up through the years. Such craftsmanship!

Love the little log cabin! There are no signs of spring here. It's been freezing rain and snow here for two days and they are predicting 6-12 inches of snow by tomorrow night. :0(

Rides in the country is still one of my favourite things to do. Back in the early years that we lived here we found several old log cabins. They fell apart and are now gone. I wonder how old they were when we first saw them. I wish I had pictures. I did take some pictures of old abandoned farms that are now gone too. They are on the old photo's though and need scanning.

We just LOVE crocuses! So pretty! That log cabin is really neat. I wonder if there's a way to find out where it came from and who lived there?

HEY CINDY! It is Jen from Creating with The J's, with a new identity and new story. A roller coaster of a story, but life is good!!!! Your pictures are great as always. I have been taking pictures around home and thinking of you as I do so. I need to sit down and get those posts written. I am back in the blogging world though! I hope you and the 'kids' are doing well. I have some catching up to do!

Hi Cindy, just found your blog while I was researching the little town of Melmore. My husband and I own that sweet little cabin that you found. We have also purchased 3 other historical homes from the same area. We dismantled the 3 and are currently putting them up near Jackson, Oh
