Cake Art

Occasionally, I like to share photos of amazing cakes I find on Pinterest or facebook. They fascinate me...and it's hard to believe some of them are actually edible! My sister is a wonderful cook and makes special cakes for her children and grandchildren's birthdays, and I've helped her with the decorating a couple of times. I think I could really get into it...I should consider taking a cake decorating class. Hummm...yet another hobby??

These cakes are perfect for spring and Easter. I've given credit to the artist for the ones where it was listed with the photo , but unfortunately some didn't say.

Ready for a spring holiday? How about a luggage cake by Charm City Cakes

This one is by Arty Cakes in the UK...she makes incredible cakes with all buttercream frosting! She can be found on facebook under  Arti Cakes.

Easter bonnet cake by Fifi's Cakes

How about a tea party?

Here's one for the fashionista in your life! I really wonder how they made that shoe? Or is it a real shoe??

Last, but not least, I think these two are my favorites - they're so, so pretty and spring-like!

Love the colors and the pansies!!

Are you a cake artist? If so, please share!

Sweet Dreams!

These are astonishingly pretty and creative. I rarely eat sugary desserts but these are works of art. Almost too pretty to eat.

I can barely frost a flat sheet cake without making a huge mess - those are INCREDIBLE - how can people be so talented and patient to make things so beautiful - and EDIBLE!??

Shockingly awesome.

These are so cool, but I'm sure they take way more time to make than I would ever put into it. Some people are just so talented and creative!

They are all so amazing. I love that peacock! I'd start a business doing this if I didn't have so many pets. A cake would be full of cat and dog hair at my house.

I have tried cake decorating and loved it... my only problem is ...I have a heavy hand and couldn't quite master the delicate touch needed for petals etc. .....These days You can buy these already done...wonderful idea.....I leave all this to my lovely DIL these days..
Have a Happy Easter..

Stunning. The Easter bonnet cake reminds me of my childhood when my moms friend the baker lady made me an Easter bonnet cake in the dead of winter! It is a lovely memory I enjoy conjuring up! Also the pansy cake is delightful and all who know me knows that I do not like Christmas cakes (i.e. Santa faces or poinsettas) because I am born in December! My friend Olga had a local bakery whip up a Springtime pansy decorated cake for me when I was working at my first job right after high school. Sweet memories! I am new following you! Happy Easter!

What gorgeous cakes! The peacock one is amazing, as are they all. I've always wanted to do that, too.

we go to a local event every year. They make awesome cakes there too. Some professional but mostly armatures. Its a local charity event. It amazes me how talented people can be. I too thought about a class, they offer them at Michaels, I have books and the equipment but alas, my small efforts have not turned out well. You have to waste a bit to get results.
